Luca was born in Salerno, a city by the sea in the south of Italy.  From a young age he dreamed of becoming a barber.  While studying at college he helped out at his brother’s barbershop but Luca wanted to do it his way so, at the age of 24, left Italy and moved to the UK to pursue his dream.

In the UK, he took a year-long apprenticeship which also helped improve his English, then started barbering at various locations.  He worked in Borehamwood, Radlett, St. Albans and surrounding areas. This was invaluable experience for him and he picked up top skills and tips from very experienced barbers. 

In 2019 Mentality barbershop was launched.  Luca found the perfect location, his shop is in Watford High Street, in the New Watford Market.  Mentality barbershop has an Italian soul as Luca could never hide his Italian heritage.

It is not only his skills of the trade that make it such a successful salon, Luca infuses passion into every single haircut with great attention to detail. His clients are known by name and feel free to talk about any and every subject with him. A cold beer or a traditional Italian espresso are a very pleasant addition.
